I always found Potomac Pizza to be the best pizza! I am now on the West Coast and missing it. Haven't found anything that compares. However, my only complaint that is holding me from giving 5 stars is the customer service. The employees really need to try and be a bit more friendly and welcoming. I know it can be hard when your super busy and overwhelmed with orders but that's one of the most important factors in a successful business.

I went here for lunch and got the lunch special - two slices of pizza and a salad. The pizza was practically raw, the cheese on it just barely melted. I also had Canadian bacon topping on the pizza and since it was practically raw I wasn't sure if they cooked the meat to the right temperature, so had to pick all the meat off just to be safe. The pizza without the canadian bacon on it was ok. The salad was wilted and brown. I don't even eat that brown of salad leaves at home, so I don't know why they would think it's acceptable to serve that bad of lettuce when someone is paying for it. They were incredibly busy for lunch and I did receive my order quickly. However I'd rather it take a little longer and be a fresh salad and cooked pizza than just slamming out poor quality food. I don't plan to go back.

Order took 2 hours to deliver to Bethesda metro office building. Pizza was cold, not even close to being fresh. The box was obviously turned on its side back when it WAS hot, since the toppings of cheese and pepperoni were in the corner of the box, congealed. I am outraged. This is terrible and unacceptable. Edit: The owner called me personally and apologized for the pizza mess, and gave me a full refund and additional credit to make the situation right. As angry as I was in the moment, I do look forward to ordering pizza in the future since I do think it tastes great!

JUst no flavor, simple as that. Everything was bland that was sauce based. The sausage sandwich was the same but the sausage wasn't bad. Very pricey and just not worth it. Wings were also undercooked and lacked any flavor.

I was unsure about wanting to try this place and I was right for it. The service is pretty good they complete your order at a nice pace took about 10 mins and they have great deals like 2 slices of pizza, one soda, and a side order is $10.59 however the food is a BIG problem when I received my order the pizza was thin and soggy the cheese slid off the fries were soggy the only thing that was eight was the soda and I'm sure that they had the least amount responsibility for that. This place probably has some better food like if I got a sandwich or something but the pizza is horrible and they should really improve on that if they are going to have it in their name. I feel like that was a big waste of money considering that I didn't need the drink and the food was terrible and I didn't eat it.

This is a tale of two pizzas. My first time here, I was busy shopping in the area and grabbed a single slice of pepperoni to scarf down on the go. Blech. The dough was soggy and the cheese was sliding right off. It was probably the only time in my life I was glad I'd only ordered one slice of pizza. But being a white pizza aficionada, I tried a personal white pizza later on. It was delicious! It's the closest I've gotten to Grotto's white pizza in the area, though it's still not the same. I wish the dough was crisper and the crust thinner as it tends to be very puffy. Still, I find it to taste pretty good. I've been back for more white pizzas and they're consistently good. Maybe one day I'll give their other stuff another chance but for now I'm sticking with what I know.

Online ordering. Quick delivery. The keystones of a successful takeout operation right there. Dominos will give you two pizzas for $10, so getting one pizza for $22 like you will here isn't exactly a steal, but I did get four toppings (pepperoni, basil, spinach, garlic), and they loaded that bad boy up. Very generous with the toppings. Seriously, every bite will take you on a journey through flavor country. I also got an order of jalapeno poppers, which had a nice deep fry to them with breading that didn't fall apart with the first bite - I hate places that can't fry stuff up competently. The pepper was great, but I'm not crazy about their mix of cream and cheddar cheeses. Just stick to the cream, says this observer. Bottom line: it's a balance between great taste and a way too high price for pizza. I'd definitely recommend it, though.

We walked in for dinner on a Saturday. Hardly anyone was there. I didn't think that was a good sign, but plenty of people came in to order take out. Since we were unable to order the White Pizza (they were out of one/some of the ingredients). However, we were able to add black olives and garlic to the Three Cheese and it was quite good! Definitely worthy of a return visit.

Review is for takeout only, since my husband spoils me and picks up when I've had a long day at work. And Potomac Pizza makes it all worth it! Terrific crust, even the thin crust. The Hawaiian is particularly good, and you can order light cheese (or even no cheese) if you don't want a heart attack.

Great pizza ! Haven't tried anything else but I love that they have pizza slices with up to 3 toppings at a great price. And the fact that you can call ahead for the slices if you want toppings help since my break is only 30 mins .Plus they offer a 10% discount to mall employees. lol I sound like I work there but I don't ^_^

For a grub hub delivery. 1 hour and 30 minutes, still nothing. I called after an 1 hour and 15 minutes (ten minutes after eta) to inquire about status. They said they weren't sure exactly when it would be "out of the kitchen" and the "delivery guy is away." Order canceled. I know their food is decent, but when it doesn't show, it's not very good at all.

I ordered their Grilled Tuna Steak Salad, and was very disappointed with what I got! The fish was dry, hard, and yet chewy. It almost felt I was eating a piece of wood or rubber. The server was somewhat awkward and yet while cleaning empty plates, he tried to grab everything at the same time. Silverware forks and knives were falling over... When we helped him put everything together in his hands he started to move from out table, but two steps further dropped a forks again. Instead of picking them up he was kicking them with his shoes towards the kitchen area (of course! his hands were busy)!!! That was really, really bad!!! Awful quick bite dining experience!!!

Not only did everything that should have come hot arrive cold, the fries were soggy and when the Congressional Turkey Club says "stacked with roasted turkey breast", it really means 2 1/2 measly pieces of crappy cold cut turkey. DON'T USE DELIVERY--MEAN DELIVERY DRIVERS WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER! Ordered a meat lover style and got a cheese and spinach. I called the store to notify them of the mixup and they wanted to take the pizza back to redeliver. First red flag! What kind of restaurant takes food from one customer's hom to send to the next? Then I got a call from the driver who chewed me out for several minutes for calling the store! The manager did even offer to send a new pizza. Ended up with a cold, greasy cheese and spinach pizza. Worst delivery experience I've had yet!

First impressions means a lot and when my co-worker told me this place was great (he mostly does take out) and I took this as an opportunity to try it out for lunch with my family and some coworkers on 26FEB14. However, it was all but great =l So the three issues I had with the place: 1) We ordered the veggie pizza (mushrooms, broccoli, and tomoatoes). Although we received the pizza within a reasonable amount of time the pizza crust was SOGGY and not enjoyable (from what my co worker said, they probably didn't cook it long enough). 2) When I got the check I still had a pizza on my plate (still hungry) and as I was getting my credit card to stick into the black book where the receipt is the waiter took my plate (I was also talking to my daughter who was next to me and didn't notice). As soon as the waiter left I said to the group "Did someone take my plate?" and they all said yes. The waiter came back and said "Did I take something I wasn't supposed to take?" and I said yes and he chuckled and said he was on a roll taking the plates (other plates on the table), no apology or remedy HE just chuckled. To me that's poor customer service to not even apologize. 3) Then soon after THAT, another guy takes the black book with my credit card and swipes it and brings it back to me. I looked at the bill and it was cheaper so I was like okay cool he gave me a discount for the pizza he took from me. So I sign it and tip the guy. The "other guy" takes the the black book then COMES Back and says I need to swipe your card again because I charged your coworkers meal on your card. UNBELIEVABLE. Needles to say, based on SOGGY Pizza and Poor customer service, I do not recommend this place AT ALL. I hear Ledo's on River road is better, go there!

Ordered a pizza to be delivered tonight. Estimated delivery time was 1 hour. Totally acceptable. Actual delivery time 1 hour 25 min. It's raining so I didn't call, even though the restaurant is only a mile and a half from where I live. What gets these guys 1 star is the fact that not only was the pizza COLD - not even like warm so it was obviously in the box for a long time - but it had also been flipped upside down in the box! No toppings on my pizza. All the cheese and melted and hardened to the box. Thanks for the $26 worth of soggy dough. Won't be ordering from here again.

This place was disgusting. I ordered a slice of pizza and asked for sausage on it, they took an old slice of cheese pizza threw some sausage on it and tried to put cheese on it, warmed it up just so it would stick. FRIES WERE HORRIBLE. PIZZA WAS HORRIBLE. waste of money

After a lot of switching, and back and forth, this has become my place to order delivery pizza and the odd Italian sub. Their service is solid-- though their location means they fight traffic at most hours--I hate going to this area of town because of the congestion. But they do a good job. Their pizza is very cheesy and consistent. I think it is much better right out of their oven, but that is seldom how I eat it. They serve a decent Italian hero--not in the Taylor's category, but better than Subway. Their salads are ok too.

I swear I never get sick of eating at this place. Potomac Pizza in chevy chase has some of the finest quality foods I have tasted in any Italian restaurant. Im not even kidding, I choose this place over the more expensive fine dining restaurants in the area. My favorite pizza on the menu is the Nelson Eddie pizza. I cant get enough of it. I hold off on the anchovies of clues cause its not my thing but everything else is out together so well. And for a pizza that has so many toppings, it cooks so well all around. I also love the plain jane cheese pizza when im in the mood to really taste the basic delicious ingredients that make their pizza so great. Some of my other favorite menu items are the chicken Parmesan sup (i sub the parm cheese for mozzarella of course) and their tuna steak is amazing. Also every one of their appetizers are so freaking good. I cant believe for the quality of food and amount you get, they charge you much less than they should. Its the most amazing value especially for the area. Now let me get to my most favorite thing about this place. The staff is all so amazing and professional and clean. The facility is so perfect you think you are dining out in a movie. Unbelievably warm hospitality and too notch service. These guys are a great team serving some of the best food in our area. If i lived closer id be there every single day and never get sick of it because their quality is so good and fresh, plush they have such a wide range of things to order on the menu that for everyones taste. This place is amazing for kids and they do awesome catering jobs too so if you have a birthday party or an office event, call these guys!

Several months later from my first review swearing to never order from here again, I did accidentally. Surprisingly I can say my sandwich wasn't bad however the fries were cold. Not warm, but COLD. Other than that, it seems they've stepped their game up somewhat. I suggest that they get some type of warmer bag for delivery especially during lunch hour in the BCC area. My cold soda shouldn't have been sitting on top of what was supposed to be my hot food.

We went here tonight for an early dinner with a Groupon for a large 2-topping pizza. I love wings, so we got those for an appetizer, too. We were greeted and seated immediately. The waiter was really friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The wings were really good and the blue cheese dressing that came with them was great. It had nice big pieces of blue cheese in it! For our pizza, we got their original pizza with spinach and mushrooms and it was excellent. The sauce was really flavorful, the cheese was melty and salty, the veggies were fresh, and the crust was just the right texture. For a gourmet specialty pizza, I still recommend Pete's and Comet, but this is my go-to pizza place for a great standard pie. I will definitely be back!

Normally love these guys for on the fly reliable pizza, salads, apps, etc. the last 3 delivery orders though have come to us luke warm at best. To their credit, tonight was the 3rd time and they apparently are going to refund our order. That's nice but I really just want hot food to be delivered hot - including the pizza. Food was finally delivered almost 40 minutes after we got the alert online that it was out for delivery. 40 minutes in a car in 30 degree temps isn't going to do much for getting hot food delivered hot, I am guessing. Then - to top it all off - they forgot the dressing and the chicken on our Greek Chicken Salad. It pains me to say so but the quality is going down and fast.

Had a Groupon for a large two - topping pizza. We got spinach & ricotta and grilled chicken. The pizza was delicious and the customer service was very good. It was a little confusing because we saw the counter first and assumed it was counter service and didn't notice the dine-in area until after we had ordered at the counter. We will definitely be back.

I have only ever ordered pizza takeout from this place, so I can't speak to the restaurant or anything else on the menu, but I have ordered pizza multiple times and it has been consistently good. There is nothing super snazzy about their pizza; it's just your classic American pie. However, they do a good job of it--they put on just the right amount of the toppings, the crust has the right amount of chew to it, the sauce is homemade and the cheese is always melty and tasty. They have a nice variety of topping options and they even offer a gluten-free and a low-fat version of their pizzas. I also find the price to be pretty good for the area. Overall, while I would never say they blew me away, I have happily come back here several times and will continue to do so. Definitely a pizza joint to keep on the radar!

Steak and cheese was light on meat. The hot italian was not hot. The fries were cold. Its probably those stupid munchie package things the poppers and fries were in. Nothing about that packaging kept the food warm. Had to add mayo and italian dressing to my sub as there was none on my sub as requested. 1 pickle on each half of the sub was less than impressive as well. There was enough lettuce on both subs to make a side salad so thats one thing they didnt skimp on. Just wanted to try out a place that we have not tried yet. I cant say I was impressed I might try them out on the pizza one of these days, but the rest of the stuff I will be staying away from.

They weren't overly generous with the toppings (peppers and onions) on my large pizza, and it isn't particularly cheap. The crust and cheese were pretty good, though, and that's what really matters. I'd still be inclined to go down the street to Pete's Apizza for more exciting options (albeit higher prices), but given that I was using a Groupon I don't regret going here.

I give them five stars based on their Pepperoni pizza alone. I don't know why everyone gives this place a hard time. Potomac pizza easily has the best pie in the area. If what you're looking for is what pizza is meant to be, this is your place. Doughy crust, greasy top, thin, NY style pizza. If you're looking for the "health conscious" pizza place that doesn't put too much cheese on by default... you will not like it. This is real pizza. Artery clogging, tummy aching, good freakin' pizza, the way it's meant to taste. Do not show up to a Pizza place and order a salad, or a subwich, or any of that other garnish food. This place is about pizza. end of story.

I really liked the fast service, friendly waiters, fun activites for my kids. they were on the coloring sheets for almost the whole time. the only thing I do not recommend is the make your own pizza section. it tasted great but the chese kept slipping of and all over my clothes. but that's only one small thing and it didn't hurt so I highly recommend this place for any family

I'm not even sure I've had a pizza here yet. Rather, I've been stuck on the sandwich menu. The Italian Hoagie, Veal Parm, Eggplant Parm, Meatball, and BLT sandwiches are all great. For the applicable sandwiches, they come fully laden with the delicious, thick red-sauce. Also, how can you go wrong by starting things off with some jalapeno poppers!? The service is really quick and my pick-up order is always ready in the time it takes me to get there. The atmosphere is extremely casual and they have a few good beers.

I LOVE this place. Every time I'm in Friendship Heights, I have to stop and get pizza no matter what. My favorite is the three cheese pizza. Every time I have it, it gets better and better. I also like the fact that you can choose to eat in - and I think the restaurant is really nice. The service is good and quick. I definitely will keep coming back to Potomac Pizza along as it is here.

This place was kind of a surprise. I bought a groupon and had heard mixed reviews for it. The pizza was good. We got the Nelson Eddie, which in retrospect probably had too many toppings. The real metric for judging pizza is how they handle a classic pepperoni. The pizza was not particularly greasy, which could be good or bad depending on your preference. A large pizza was more than enough to satiate my friend and I. We also ordered cheesey garlic bread which wasn't anything special. However, it is more of a restaurant that I had first anticipated. There was plenty of seating, spaciously arranged in a clean dining area. The ordering counter is separate, but there is waiter service at the tables if you are eating in. The server was friendly and the food came very quickly. They also have a wider selection of beers than I would have guessed: a couple of Red Hooks and Sierra Nevada. There were also a variety of wine options. The food was adequate, although you could find better pizza around. The service was surprisingly good. Consider this for dining in.

Caveat: I've never eaten-in at Potomac Pizza (any location), but have placed delivery orders 37 times from them over the past 3 years (sounds bad, but it averages out to just a hair over 1 order/month). They offer a fairly sophisticated online ordering system, which I generally utilize, because I prefer because I prefer receiving written, not verbal confirmations of my orders. The menu is extensive, and any time I've got a hankering for pizza, subs, or even more generally, pseudo-Italian-American junk food, this place never fails to deliver. If you're ordering pizza, I highly recommend customizing your own, as you're guaranteed a very fresh bite (not to say that any of their specialty pizzas wouldn't be the same), and because the toppings (I've tried a good variety) they use are quality. The lasagna, a bit on the pricey side, is filling and delicious, and the subs I've had from Potomac Pizza have always been satisfying.

Wow, what a great experience! Decided to get some pizza with a friend before catching a movie at Mazza AMC, and was very impressed with Potomac Pizza. The atmosphere is clean and open; high ceilings with plenty of seating, and it's really nice that the take-out area is separate from the dining room. Our server, Andy, was clearly experienced. Water glasses were always full, and our orders came out right when he said they would. On recommendation, I ordered a personal-sized Mexican pizza: regular crust with re-fried beans, monterey jack and cheddar, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, and tomato, plus I added ground beef and jalepeno peppers. SO DELICIOUS, and quite filling. I love Mexican food and pizza, and this was a harmonious blend of the two, I've never tasted anything like it! Next time I'll get it with extra cheese. My friend got the Hawaiian pizza, which I tasted. The pineapple was fresh and the Canadian bacon was thick-cut and flavorful, not too salty. The red sauce on the pizza tasted great too. We didn't order beer, but it looks like they have a good selection both on tap and by the bottle, along with great Thursday night drink specials. We'll be back many times, I'm sure.

Got delivery, and at absolute best, it was meh. First of all, it's insanely overpriced. The pizza is the exact same size as a Domino's one, and it's about 15 dollars more expensive. Plus, it's just not good pizza. We had a Hawaiian, and the pineapple was canned and sour, and there were a grand total of 4 slices of deli ham on the entire pizza. Angelicos, or literally any other place in the area, has better food.

Pizzas: 4 stars Decent, around where whole foods pizza is, if not better. The toppings are plenty. It's a regular good pizza, nothing regrettable, nothing amazing. Subs + Fries: no more than 2 stars. I got the hot Italian and it was way worse than Jimmy Johns. There wasn't much in it meat-wise and it just didn't feel like a good sub at all. The components were all extremely mediocre. The fries cost me extra, and were dry and somewhat flavorless even though they seemed fresh out of the fryer. Almost 9 bucks before tax and tip for a mediocre sub with even more mediocre fries.

Had the Groupon for a large pizza so I decided to try it out. Got a spinach and cheese pizza, not sure why I got something so safe. Pizza was pretty good, nothing amazing (it seems all DC pizza tastes the same). The guys at the register were friendly. Without the Groupon, a pizza costs $17 or so and that is just too expensive for my taste.

I had take-out from the place, and it really wasn't good. I give it two starts still only because it's pizza, and how bad can pizza really get. Also since it was take out I am more forgiving of some things. That said the pizza's crust was very soft and wet on top. Everything was just to soggy for my tastes. Delivery was on time. Gyro and fries with poppers - great containers, and the fries were the shoestring variety, which I love. Only negative was that the salad did not come with the requested dressing.

Great place, good atmosphere, friendly service. They manage the place well and it's everything you expect it to be. It's not gourmet pizza, but they have a ton of options for both pizza and non-pizza orders. Always a super friendly staff. They often have fundraisers and deals going on.

Yikes, I'm shocked to see the poor reviews! The service can be slow sometimes (b/c it's often packed) and PotPiz is definitely more expensive than a fast food chain pizza store, but the great pizza makes up for it. I've gone here literally a dozen times over the last 4 years and have always been very pleased with the food. I would absolutely recommend as a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. It seems always pretty packed--especially with young families--so I don't really understand all the poor reviews, hope everyone has better luck here in the future!

When I dine in or carryout, I'm totally satisfied with the pizza (I especially like the crust!) and the service. I placed an order online once, and was called a few minutes later and told about a special they had that eventually made my order a lot cheaper, which was much appreciated! However, I've found delivery lacking. We ordered a pizza and cheese fries; while everything arrived when they said it would, the pizza was warmish, and the cheese fries were room temperature and congealed into a nice solid mass. This was especially disappointing since I'm less than a 5 minute drive away. I'll still go here, but only for carryout or dine-in.

I really wanted to like this place but I just cant and don't like it at all. My 1st experience with P.P. was when a coworker came back to the office with a huge pizza for anyone who wanted some and it was pretty good. So I met some friends there about a week later to sit down and have lunch and it was not a good experience. I ordered the grilled chicken salad...first it took about 20 mins for our food to get to us (they had some kitchen issue), then when I got my salad it was basically a big ass bowl of lettuce, 3 tomato slices and sliced grilled chicken and that's it! No nothing else extra, I had to ask for some cheese and mushrooms and when I also asked for some broccoli they tried to charge me but after seeing my face, they let that slide. So needless to say the salad was horrible. Then I went back again to order some buffalo wings and fries....when the girl told me the price would be $11.65 for 8 wings and a small side of fries (no drink) I chuckled and just walked out. I know its Chevy Chase but they must be crazy! My last hoorah came yestreday when I went back cause I had a taste for a steak n cheese. I look at the menu it says $6.99 for the sandwich. I ask the guy ringing me up does the sandwich come with fries (he must have been new and didn't know a damn thing about prices) but with the help of his coworker I was told no. I would have to either order a small or large fry separate or get the sand which, fries and small drink combo. I ask for the combo and once again, it was almost 12 bucks. I decided right there that I wont ever go back to that place again....ever!

Recently ordered here for delivery. I had a slice of pizza and a greek salad, my friend got the steak sandwich. He enjoyed his sandwich a lot. My salad was great - I usually like creamy greek dressing but they use a vinaigrette - FYI. Still enjoyed it. Pizza was good but a little lukewarm. Warmed it up in the oven and it was yummy. Not a perfect experience but worth ordering again.

Used my 2nd groupon. $10.00 for large pizza with two toppings. Both times it was not a bad pizza but nothing special. Also very stingy with the toppings. Non-groupon price is $17.00 for the same pizzas. No way I'm dishing out that much hard-earned cash for these pizzas. We also ordered the veal parm dinner. What a joke. $14.00 for by far the smallest portion ever. Plus it was kind of bland. They should have called it spaghetti with three bites of veal. They expect people to come back? They need a lesson on not being so stingy with toppings and portion size, especially for $14.00!!! I gave it a shot but I will not be back. What a shame because I live and work in the area.

Potomac Pizza is my go to. It's not gourmet pizza, but it's definitely a great NY style slice. I've ordered it from most of their locations and have never had any complaints. It's delicious!

Unfortunately I chose to eat dinner here last night. By way of background, I like pizza and love it when it's greasy -- a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. The pizza at Potomac Pizza, however is disgusting, by way of grease. I ordered two slices of pepperoni and couldn't finish one due to the 2 cm deep pool of grease that had accumulated on my plate. Revolting! Service is also one of my pet peeves, and Potomac struck a cord there too. I made the mistake of trying to place my order at the front counter and I received a blank, slightly constipated stare in return from the 19 year old staffing the register. Needless to say, I will not be returning and would strongly discourage others from making the same mistake that I did.

Wow... after seeing all these 2 and 3 star reviews, I have become convinced that people down here have become so used to "pizza-type product" that when they come across something that has the taste, zest, and aesthetic feel of an authentic NYC slice, the flavor overwhelms their taste buds and causes their bodies to go into shock. The only known cure for this conniption episode is to write a poor review of what I consider to be the best-tasting pizza I've come across in the District (and the DC city limits). The crust is crispy, the cheese is plentiful, the sauce is scrumtrilescent... sure, it's nowhere near as large as the city slices I was used to growing up (8 inches per slice compared to about 12 inches per slice in NY) but its taste definitely makes up for it. Two friends were in town for the Fourth of July and last year we had ordered Angelico's pizza from Tenleytown because it was cheap and close-by. The fact that we are still friends today after I subjected them to sauce-covered cardboard is a more testament to our friendship than anything. This year, after coming across this pizza place during a staff-building activity, I brought them to Potomac. Between the four of us - my girlfriend was there at the time - we devoured almost three whole pies. What's more... because my friends had ordered a 4-cheese pizza and the waiter brought us out a regular, he had the kitchen whip up a 4-cheese free of charge which we later brought to the party. The free pizza we got? Yeah, we were lauded as heroes and given the key to the city. Please, I know it's hard, considering the mediocre reviews, but if you want GOOD pizza and not just some cheap imitation, and you want it for a fair price, go to Potomac... just let me know how it was so I can be jealous.

I'm giving Potomac 4 stars for quality and taste only. It's the best pizza that I can have delivered to my apartment. The down side is that you can't eat there, as others have said, delivery takes forever and a day and the prices are pretty high if you customize a pizza. Also, if you order online, and order a half-and-half pizza, they charge you full-price for each half-topping. The way around this is to order a specialty pizza and substitute out the toppings that are on it for the toppings you want (and hope that the folks making it don't get insanely confused).

Excellent local pizza restaurant for families. The pizza is quite good -- not world changing, but really good. They are very family friendly. In each of the 3 times I've been here, half the customers have been families with children, and nobody batted an eye when we walked our baby around to look at the holiday decorations, etc. The atmosphere is laid back but the wait staff is engaged and attentive. I didn't know they made teenagers so polite anymore. A good pizza with salad and birch beer in a family friendly, relaxed joint? Count me in.

Boy, I really hate to do this. Really I do. The kid who waited on me was so efficient and provided such great service but this was the worst pizza I have had in this city. That is saying a lot b/c there is a lot of really bad pizza in DC. At first I just thought it was not great but by the end of the evening it hit me.."This is the worst pizza I have ever had!" The crust was puffy like a store bought Boboli crust but the killer was the sauce. It was sweet and thickish and just awful. It was the kind of pizza sauce that tastes like canned pasta sauce. I got the spinach/ricotta and while that mixture was actually quite good by the time I ate past that it was all downhill. My companion felt exactly the same way about his (we both gave it two stars out of ten) and he called it pizza soup; his crust was swimming so badly in sauce that when he picked up his slice all the cheese and such fell off and just left a doughy skin flap behind. Oh, God, it is all coming back to me..

I just redeemed a groupon here. I have eaten at Potomac Pizza many times before without a problem but actually created a Yelp account because I am so dissatisfied with my latest experience. I know why the cashier didn't show me the pizza when I picked it up. First, they got the order wrong, second, the "large 16 in pizza" measured out to 14.5 in. Finally, they totally skimped on the toppings. When I called the restaurant to express my displeasure, the manager I spoke with, Dan, was completely unapologetic and made no efforts to rectify the situation. I ended with "I don't see myself returning to your restaurant. When in the area, go to Pete's or Ledo's. Don't bother with this place.

Just ordered pizza from Potomac Pizza. I wasn't sure how this place would be based on the mixed reviews, and I was a little apprehensive when the delivery guy showed up at our house and my husband asked how the pizza was and he replied, "It's alright." But despite all this, we tried the pizza and it's good! The pizza is thin, New York style and the crust is not at all Boboli-esque as one reviewer described it. The sauce was good and fresh tasting. We made up our own pizza- mushroom with half Italian sausage and half spinach. I was so excited to be able to order spinach as a topping since not many places offer it. Another bonus- if you register and order online you get 20% off your first order. This is a great alternative to the boring delivery chains.

We have our end-of-season baseball and soccer parties here - and these guys know how to keep everyone happy: 1. All the pizzas sitting ready and waiting at the appointed time. 2. Pitchers of coke and sprite for the kids, pitchers of foaming Sam Adams for the parents, what's not to like. 3. Whenever the kids start getting too antsy: eating sugar packets; putting pepper in someone's coke; daring someone to wolf a mouthful of chili peppers - the parents are all freaking out, but the staff are way cool. They know deep down that it's not that long ago that they were doing that themselves and in a few years time these 11 year olds will be waiting their own tables and putting up with rambunctious 11 year olds......

It's pretty good pizza. Nothing amazing, but it does what it's supposed to do. The service is friendly, the crowd seems to be mostly kids and their parents. Prices are high - about $9.00 for an individual cheese pizza. I usually go for one of three items. The plain cheese pizza is very tasty, with gooey cheese and a soft doughy crust. The cheese calzone with pepperoni is tasty, but be warned - the "individual" size seems to think that an "individual" is someone who hasn't eaten in 2 days. The cheese fries are also nice, but my gripe with them is that they seem to throw all the fries into their dish and then put the cheese on top. The proper method is to put some fries, then apply cheese, then layer on more fries and cheese as necessary. Props for using real cheese though. If you're jonesing for a pizza before or after seeing a movie at Mazza, you might as well go here. I don't know of many other options besides Cosi.

Tucked among fashonista destination stores like Gucci and Jimmy Choo, I found this pizzeria. Nothing about the decor inside was unremarkable with its stone tables and bay windows that faced the street. It is a family owned place with all locations currently in Maryland. Pizza wise- it was pretty good. The dough is hand tossed, and it is tasty and chewy. Perhaps to appeal to the clientele of the aforementioned boutique stores, the dough and sauce that Potomac uses is non- fat. There is even a "Guilt Free Pizza" on the menu, basically a veggie pizza with no cheese. The prices for a full pie reflect the neighborhood. A large three cheese pizza is sixteen bucks while their version of a supreme pizza is twenty one dollars. The calzones, which are also good here, are just $9 which seems like a bargain in comparison.

The first time I had the spinach or pesto pizza. It was OK. About as good as a frozen pizza might be at home. But, then, I returned. And had the calzone. It was really good! Melty cheese, with a warm, soft crust. Could have used more or a greater variety of vegetables but overall it was satisfying.

Reliable family-style pizza joint....suitable for families, or groups, or even if you are by yourself. The staff is generally upbeat. This is not gourmet dining. The menu has that "focus group feel:" just slightly offbeat, like a broadcast network TV show, without challenging the customers' views of what food could be, or should be. But the pizza is a good deal for the price. The front glass windows provide an entertaining vista over the sidewalk crowds. The TV is almost always tuned to football games, when I go there. Thankfully, the sound is low, so if it's not a game you're interested in, it's not obtrusive. Pizza purists will have to keep looking. But as far as bellytimber for hungry teens or young men...this is good. Plus, the decor is light and bright enough not to frighten children, girls and women. Or small mammals.

Small packages all wrapped up in... just down the street from the high end shopping, near the Metro buses, is this pizza joint. It looks just like all the other shop fronts, the front doors really stick (or suck depending on how you look at it), and the pizza slices aren't very big. Kind of average. The menu visible above the counter. But a slice of pepperoni cost me almost four bucks. Yup. You heard me. On the other hand, the guys are kind of cute... and the pizza slice was almost covered in pepperoni, the dough was delightfully chewy, and the grease ran down my chin. Yummy.

If you have kids this place is a good place to take them. The pizza is a little over priced but I would pay the extra few dollars and eat here than at a Domino's. The atmosphere is that of a large fast food chain pizza restaurant. I enjoyed my Nelson Eddie pizza which had anchovies, black olives, Canadian bacon, green peppers, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni and Italian sausage. The toppings were added on after the cheese so it appears the veggies weren't cooked but they were it just wasn't cooking in cheese that people seemed to be having fits about in their reviews. I love veggies and I welcomed the overflowing toppings. The pizza wasn't greasy and the crust was a typical large chain pizza crust but it wasn't oily. I would recommend this place if you have kids and if you want to go out for unpretentious pizza.

Overly pricey, overly doughy and so saucy the cheese slides right off. I ordered mozzarella and basil and they put big raw basil leaves on top of the cheese then into a 500 degree oven, so by the time it came out there was just charred foliage. A small salad here is absolutly CRAMMED into a plastic container - extract it into a mixing bowl and you'll have salad for days! The wait times can be extrordinary - they were telling people calling for delivery that it would be 75 to 95 minutes at one point. Yikes!

It took 1.5 hours to get one large pepperoni pizza that was not remarkable at all. When asked why it took so long, there was no explanation or any kind of appeasement, just a half-hearted "I-don't-know-what-happened" and I was out another $20 for some crappy DC pizza. This place is not good and I am not from the Midwest. Their pizzas would not live up to any foodie in my opinion. Would Bobby Flay ever have a throw down with this place? Hell no! My homemade pizza on my pizza stone and oven is 100xs better than this place. Even Digiornos might be better lol The only good I can say about this place, is that some of their pizzas are creative like the mexican pizza. The dough is not good, and that's one of the most important parts. It's thin and soggy and I would prefer thin and crispy.

Bascially reaffirming what everyone else said, with just a little more bite. Potomac Pizza would be a great date spot, if......... Potomac Pizza would be a great spot to chill, drink beer with friends after work, if.... Potomac Pizza is perfectly located next to a metro, and would be a great place to order takeout from work, then pickup to head on home if... If only the undersized pizza didn't suck. Just that plain and simple. I'm cool with the prices being what they are, and heck if I had a business next to all these stores, I would charge crazy prices too, but I would make sure what I'm selling is good pizza, which is where this place fails Just a little food for thought. Places with better Pizza, except Dominos: Everywhere... try Papa John's of Pizza Hut, or even Pizza Boli.

After having a good first experience with the chicken tenders at the Potomac Pizza in Potomac Village, I had to order delivery from this one in Chevy Chase. DISGUSTING!!! Definitely not the same. First of all, my chicken tenders were way overcooked, practically burnt, and so tough I could hardly chew them. I also ordered two slices of pizza "well done/extra crispy" and they came completely limp and soggy. Worst part was it took 4 paper towels to soak up all of the grease off of just two slices of pizza. Absolutely disgusting. If you want to try this place, go to the one in Potomac Village off of Falls Road, NOT this one.

If your idea of a great veggie pizza is a cheese pizza with cold, uncooked veggies heaped on top, this is the place for you. Seriously, what are they thinking at Potomac? Yes, there were a lot of veggies on our $22 large pizza, so many that they slid off into the box every time we lifted a slice. That's because all of the veggies were on top of the cheese, not cooked under a layer of cheese as you might expect. And these raw veggies were so cold they made our hot pizza tepid in minutes. The whole mess was practically inedible. We'd saved up to try this place because we knew it was expensive. Expensive and bad, as it turns out. Maybe some of their other pizzas are decent, but my advice is to steer clear.

Pizza located near a bunch of high end clothing stores is bound to have expensive prices, so seeing a 20 dollar pizza wasn't surprising. I ordered a individual pizza that cost 10 dollars. The dough was hand tossed and the toppings were fresh. The people I went with got pasta and sandwiches and shared another pizza. Pretty clean restaurant area and more upscale than your typical pizzeria but the prices are reflective of that.

Great pizza (don't judge by NY standards-- this is DC, it's as good as it gets here), and really amazing customer service. We regularly order their pizzas for parties, and they will deliver before their opening hours with plates, utensils, and napkins. They are very accommodating and family friendly.

today i went to potomac pizza for some real pizza. its alot better than dominos in spite of the fact everything is bettter than dominos. the service there was good, the overall food was good and the pizza was great. the meat eaters pizza really filled me up. the price was reasonable and i reccomend it .
